I'm so proud of our performance sign language group. These dedicated young people are excited about their upcoming performances scheduled in the next few months at senior citizen's facilities in Boynton Beach. We're having a great time.

The drawing class members practiced abstract drawing. For most, this was their first experience with the medium of charcoal on paper. The class focused on observing shapes in a commonplace object, and translating those into abstract forms. They also explored using the gummy eraser as a drawing tool for subtracting shapes from a darkened region on the paper. The class ended with a peer critique, with everyone finding something positive to share about another's work.

Special thanks to our music instructor Mervyn Johnston for taking time out from his busy schedule to volunteer giving electric keyboard lessons. The children, youths and young adults in the class are so excited. I've had several parents calling to say how much fun their kids are having. We can hardly wait for the next class.

The BBLOT Children and Youth gave a sign language performance at 'The Atrium' Senior Living Center on August 11. The seniors at the facility showed their appreciation through smiles, applause, and clapping their hands to the performance. Several parents were also in attendance. The children and youth enjoyed the attention, and felt good about bringing joy to the seniors.
